Xbox Game Pass subscribers have plenty to look forward to as Microsoft announces an exciting lineup of new titles joining the service in the second half of March 2025. From day one releases to beloved classics and games expanding to different tiers, there’s something for every type of gamer in this Xbox Game Pass March 2025 Update.
33 Immortals: Day One Releases Lead the Charge
The highlight of this update is the arrival of two day one releases that subscribers can play without any additional purchase. 33 Immortals is available today (March 18) for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members on Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S. Developed by Thunder Lotus Games, the studio behind the beloved indie hit Spiritfarer, this co-op action-roguelike offers a dramatically different experience as players take on the role of damned souls rebelling against God’s final judgment.
In 33 Immortals, players begin in the Dark Forest hub where they choose from four character types – melee, ranged, support, or tank – before entering epic 33-player cooperative battles. Teams work together to tackle “torture chambers” (mini-dungeons) that grant powerful relics, triggering the “Wrath of God” which sets the map ablaze. The game features 14 unique weapons inspired by the seven deadly sins and seven heavenly virtues.
Later this month, survival-action game Atomfall arrives on March 27 as another day one release for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. Set five years after the fictional Windscale nuclear disaster in Northern England, this game draws inspiration from real-life events. Players will explore a quarantine zone filled with bizarre characters, mysticism, cults, and rogue government agencies while scavenging, crafting, and fighting for survival.
Xbox Game Pass March 2025 Update: Expanding Game Pass Standard Library
Game Pass Standard subscribers will see their library grow with several notable additions. Octopath Traveler II joins the service on March 19, bringing its critically acclaimed JRPG experience to Xbox Series X|S owners. This sequel features eight new travelers venturing through the land of Solistia, each with unique talents and stories.
Also arriving on March 19 for Game Pass Standard is Train Sim World 5, allowing console players to master tracks and trains across three new routes in iconic cities. For those seeking adventure, Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island3 comes to all Game Pass tiers on March 20, putting players in the role of a shipwrecked backpacker who must befriend forgotten Greek gods and restore their memories.
Retro gaming fans will be thrilled when the Blizzard Arcade Collection joins Game Pass on March 25 across all tiers. This collection brings five classic console games to modern platforms, including Blackthorne, The Lost Vikings, The Lost Vikings 2, Rock N Roll Racing, and RPM Racing, along with a museum of concept art, music, and behind-the-scenes interviews.
Game Pass Core Expansion
Game Pass Core subscribers aren’t left out of the excitement, with three more games joining the Core library on March 26th. Members will gain access to the fox-led adventure Tunic, the explosive finale to the Batman series in Batman: Arkham Knight, and monster-collecting RPG Monster Sanctuary.
Ultimate Perks and EA Play Benefits
Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can claim additional perks this month, including content packs for EA Sports WRC, War Robots: Frontiers, and Apex Legends. These perks provide exclusive cosmetics, in-game items, and other bonuses to enhance the gaming experience.
Games Leaving the Service
As with every month, several titles will be leaving Game Pass on March 31st. This departure list includes some significant losses, particularly the Yakuza series with Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, Yakuza Kiwami 2, and Yakuza: Like a Dragon all leaving the service. Other departures include MLB The Show 24, Monster Hunter Rise, Hot Wheels Unleashed 2, Lil Gator Game, Open Roads, and The Lamplighters League.
Subscribers should prioritize these titles before they leave, especially achievement hunters looking for quick completions. Games like Open Roads can be completed in around an hour, Lil Gator Game in under five hours, and MLB The Show 24 in under eight hours.
Looking Ahead to April 2025
While March still has plenty to offer, April 2025 is already shaping up to be an even bigger month for Xbox Game Pass with six day one games confirmed. Subscribers can look forward to South of Midnight (April 8th), Commandos: Origins and Descenders Next (both April 9th), Blue Prince (April 10th), Tempopo (April 17th), and the highly-anticipated turn-based RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (April 24th).
May 2025 is also taking shape with confirmed titles including Revenge of the Savage Planet (May 8), Doom: The Dark Ages (May 15th), and To a T (May 28th).
