The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) has rolled out one of its most anticipated content updates of 2025: Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1 and the free Update 46, now live on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Mac, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. This dual release marks a significant change for the long-running MMORPG, bringing a brand-new saga, a lush new zone, innovative gameplay systems, and long-requested features for console players.

A True Sequel: The Saga of the Worm Cult Continues

Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1 is more than just a new chapter—it’s a direct sequel to ESO’s original main questline. Players are invited to the mysterious, never-before-seen island of Solstice, where the infamous Worm Cult has resurfaced with ominous plans. The story picks up threads from the base game, allowing both new and returning heroes to join forces with familiar allies and uncover the secrets behind the cult’s resurgence and the enigmatic Writhing Wall that divides the island.

This is just the beginning: Part 2 of the saga is slated for release in Q4 2025, promising to further expand the narrative and the world of Tamriel.
